FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How will the recipient be notified?
Interac e-Transfer recipients can be notified via email or text when a transfer has been sent. You can choose the type of notification you want to send when you add a new recipient.
How long will it take to receive the money?
The recipient will be able to access the transferred funds immediately after accepting the transfer in notification. If you're the sender, the amount transferred is debited from your account immediately.
Is it secure to send money through email?
While an Interac e-Transfer is sent and received via email, the money itself is securely transferred between financial institutions in the same way as cheques and ATM withdrawals. A security question and answer feature is also included to ensure that only the intended recipient can access the transferred funds.
